The Malgedara villa is located near to Koggala Lake, a beautiful area abundant with birds and perfect for canoe rides around the different islands, the most popular being Bird Island. The village of Kathaluwa is a lovely, friendly village approximately 20 minutes drive (10 km) from the famous 300-year old UNESCO World heritage site of Galle Fort in Galle. A number of well-known beaches can be found between Koggala and Galle Fort: Koggala beach (3km), Talpe beach (4km), and of course the better known Unawatuna beach (6km). The great location of the villa makes it handy to stroll to the lake, nip to the beach in a tuk-tuk or go a bit further to Galle Fort.
