The Kalla Bongo Lake Resort lies 2 kms inland on the south west coast of Sri Lanka. The beach and centre of the snug fishing village of Hikkaduwa are located a short distance from the Kalla Bongo lake Resort (10 minutes by tuk tuk, the local means of transport). The capital city, Colombo, is located 100 km to the north of Hikkaduwa. The journey from Colombo to Hikkaduwa will take you along the tropical coastline and through typical Sri Lankan villages. To the south of Hikkaduwa, discover the well-known tourist town of Galle. This town, where the Dutch V.O.C. made landfall in the 17th century, with its Dutch fort, is definitely worth a visit.
