Nature Lanka Ayurveda Health Resort is located in the deep south of Sri Lanka in Kalamatiya Bay (natural bird sanctuary) on the shores of the Indian Ocean, close to the town of Tangalle. Built in the ancient Ayurvedic Hospital style to ensure complete relaxation of mind and body, Nature Lanka is in Sri Lanka's semi-dry zone - which is ideal for Ayurveda. Occupying 7 acres of naturally vegetated land with splendid Margosa trees and direct access to a wide and unspoiled beach, the resort is away from urban and semi-urban habitation and major roads - making it unique for its quiet restfulness.

Not recommended. Watch out what your are paying for and what you get !

Take care what the owner of this resort charges you! in the end he tries to take 10% more than told before als so called 'service charge'! In addition he charges 5% for credit card paying plus 5% for tips.

Ask any time what and how much you are paying for!

The ayurvedic competence is very poor in this resort. The owner - non-ayurvedic doctor himself - tries to sell the much more expensive 'intensiv cure' to almost everybody. Be aware of this, because most of the time it is not necessary at all and only fills the pockets of the owner. The two ayurvedic lady doctors are nice but not very experienced. Most of the resorts in sri lanka are - according to medical competence and serious pancha karma treatments - better. Not even for wellness I would recommend because for this the luxurious aspect in this resort is too poor.

as I found you cannot trust the website information at all. The promise yoga, meditation, poancha karma talk, musicians, teatime, excursions ... you won't get (except you pay for like for the excursions, which were promised as part of the package).

Kitchen is another problem: You don't get different food for different doshas which is so important in ayurveda. Everybody gets the same - except the people on diet. Food is tasty but always the same ... and also very cheap ingredients.

So all in all: the place is nice, rooms are small. Would be a good place for holiday without any treatments (except some really good massages). But just for holiday there are much nicer places around AND also cheaper with much better value for your money!
